Key partner in the shift towards environmentally friendly solutions

“We work to develop and prepare the industry in the best way possible for the changes that will come, both in terms of digitalisation and decarbonisation. The NMA will be a key partner for the industry”, says Director General of Shipping and Navigation, Knut Arild Hareide.

Nor-Shipping is an important arena for everyone working in the maritime industry. That is why the NMA has made it a priority to participate in the conference every year since 2007. This year, our main efforts will be concentrated around the stand and the Quality Flag Reception. We will also be present at a number of events throughout the conference, ready to meet customers and other interested parties.

“A presence and dialogue in arenas like this make it easier for customers to reach out whenever they start a new project. In this way, we will be included at an earlier stage, for instance when someone would like to start using a new type of energy, so that we will be able to make shipping more safe and secure,” says Hareide. To ensure that we can meet the expectations from shipping companies choosing new solutions, we have established a section dedicated to new maritime technology. This section is intended to act as a link to and assist our skilled technical departments, for instance when a shipowner wants to build a vessel with autonomous technology or new energy carriers. Throughout the conference, the NMA stand will have representatives from various departments.

“We hope many come by our stand during the conference for a chat. We promise that visitors will meet professional and accommodating representatives, and there will be good coffee for our guests”, says Head of Marketing at the NMA, Andre Sæbø. He is also the NMA project manager for Nor-Shipping 2023.
