A large number of visitors flocked to the Norwegian stand at the international shipping exhibition Posidonia, which is arranged in Greece this week.
– I have never seen so many visitors, says Director of Communications, Eilif Fjon, who is representing the NMA in Athens.

There is obviously great interest in the Norwegian flag and maritime administration.
– The questions we get encompass a wide range of issues, says Fjon. – Many ask about transition to the Norwegian International Ship register, and we have had several shipping companies that have expressed a wish to discuss a transition to the Norwegian flag.
There are also many questions about legislation, endorsements of certificates approval of classification societies and especially the use of LNG as fuel.

The NMA stand is well situated amongst a number of large Norwegian companies.
– We have also had a visit from the Norwegian ambassador in Athens, says Fjon. – The Greek prime minister, Antonis Samaras, was present on the inauguration day, and there was a huge turnout of media, he says.

At least 1,850 exhibitors and some 19,000 visitors from a record 93 countries and territories will attend "Posidonia 2014".
