The Passenger Certificate is the vessel’s primary certificate, granting it the right to operate within a designated operational area.
Inspection of High-Speed Craft of Less Than 24 Metres in Length (L)
The Norwegian Maritime Authority (NMA) carries out inspections prior to the issuance of a certificate.
The inspection consists of two components:
- Physical inspection onboard the vessel
- Verification of vessel documentation
Issuance of the certificate is subject to compliance with the applicable regulations.
Vessels that already hold a valid certificate due for renewal must request an inspection well in advance of the expiry date stated on the certificate.
Newbuilding of High-Speed Craft of Less Than 24 Metres in Length (L)
Well in advance of the commencement of construction, the following forms must be submitted:

Reconstruction or Modification of High-Speed Craft of Less Than 24 Metres in Length (L)
The shipping company must notify the Norwegian Maritime Authority once an agreement for the reconstruction or modification of a craft has been entered into.
