Software update needed for GPS receivers
The Norwegian Maritime Authority has been informed by ProNav of a possible need for update of the software of GPS receivers by 15 May 2022.
GPS receivers calculate the date from an internally set start date and work at an interval of 1024 weeks. When 1024 weeks have passed, the counter is reset. This is called GPS Week Rollover and applies to all types of GPS manufacturers.
To manage the GPS Week Rollover, it is sometimes necessary for the software of the equipment to be updated.

The update must be done before 15 May 2022.
