How to apply for initial approval and extended course portfolio for maritime education
- Fill in the checklist for application for approved maritime education (KS-0381).
- All documentation requested in the checklist must be submitted for each application.
- Applications should be sent by e-mail to post@sdir.no.

You need to apply for extended course portefolio if all or parts of the education will be offered as e-learning, remote teaching or blended learning.

Approval by the training institution is renewed following an audit by the Norwegian Maritime Authority every five years provided that no major non-conformities were found during the audit.
If major non-conformities are detected, these will have to be closed before a new approval can be issued.

When approval has been granted for a course, you also have approval for an associated refresher course provided that the applicable course plan for the refresher course is still the basis for the training.

If the type of training is to be carried out at more than one location, you need to submit ann application for extended course portefolio.
