Safety and environmental work on board

A well-functioning safety representative arrangement is key to all safety work. The safety representatives and the working environment committee have important roles in the collaboration to create a safe workplace on board through systematic health, safety and environmental (HSE) work. The safety representatives have a number of tasks, rights and duties related to monitoring, influencing and improving the working environment. The requirements are laid down in the Regulations of 1 January 2005 No. 8 on the working environment, health and safety of persons working on board ship.
