Decompression diving notice
Diving assignments planned with decompression stops must be reported in writing to the Norwegian Maritime Authority well in advance of the dive operation.
Background and regulations
-
If it is not possible to notify in advance, such notification shall be sent as soon as possible.
The provision requires that all dive missions planned with decompression stops be notified in advance.
It is not necessary to report every dive within the dive mission.
It is sufficient that the assignment itself is announced.
The regulations allow for exceptional messages to be forwarded as soon as possible, for example in case of rescue and emergency situations.
This exception is intended to be practiced strictly.
