Notification requirements for hazardous products
Importers, manufacturers and retailers are required to notify the authorities if they discover that products they place on the market are, or may be, hazardous to consumers.
This requirement also applies to importers, manufacturers and dealers of recreational craft and related equipment.
DSB regularly receives information about hazardous products. DSB assesses the notifications and may order importers and dealers to withdraw the products.
The requirement is described in Section 6b of the Product Control Act.
For manufacturers of recreational craft, engines and components
Manufacturers must use the EU's notification system Product Safety Business Alert Gateway (formerly GPSD-Business Application) to report defects in products.
