Language profile and clear language in the NMA

In recent years, the NMA has had a strong focus on clear language, especially in texts published on its website.

Since 2011, the NMA has had its own language profile. It tells employees how best to communicate with the directorate's customers.

With the Language Act, public bodies such as the Norwegian Maritime Authority have a duty to use clear and correct language. The Språkloven contains a separate cleare language clause. You have the right to receive information in clear language from the public sector, both public-oriented information and information for individuals.
