Application and Viewing of Certificates Without National ID Number or D-number
It is possible to apply for and view certificates, as well as track the application process on My Page Seafarers, even without a National ID number or D-number.

Log In:
Go to https://sjofolk.sdir.no/ -
Choose Login Method:
Click on "Sign in or register with email". -
Create or Log In to Account:
Choose whether you want to log in to an existing account or create a new one. -
Find the Certificate:
Search for the certificate you need. -
Follow the Application Process:
Complete the steps in the application. -
Payment:
The application must be paid for before processing can begin. A receipt can be downloaded after payment. -
Certificate Available:
Once your application is approved, the certificate will be available at https://sjofolk.sdir.no/ or in the NMA Seafarers app.

You must fill out the forms, sign and submit them by mail. The certificate fee must be paid before the application can be processed. All paper attachments to the application must be notarized (stamped "true copy") by a public body.
To apply manually, you need to do the following:
- Fill out the application form (KS-0377) and sign this (see separate form for proof of qualification below).
- Search for the qualification requirements for the certificate you are applying for by selecting the correct value in the fields and clicking "View report". Then right-click in the list and select "Print" to get a hard copy. Attach the list to the application form.
- Attach documentation of the qualifications described in the list you printed.
- If you need to document bridge watch service or machine watch service, you must print out the checklist, complete it and attach it to the application.
- In the case of a manual application, you will receive an invoice by mail, the invoice must be paid before the application is processed. All attachments to the application must be notarized as a "true copy" by a public body.

It has been decided that rejection of an application for maritime personnel certificates will no longer lead to a refund of the fee paid.
This is thus a change from previous practice, when applicants with a rejected application were refunded the fee.
