The NMA has established new temporary procedures as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Verification of documentation will be carried out according to normal practice. The NMA’s surveyors do not carry out physical supervision under the current circumstances. For the time being, the NMA will therefore grant approval based on the documentation received and increase the use of photo and video documentation. The NMA will communicate current procedures to the relevant shipyards.

The DSB has also established new procedures and avoid physical supervision. Supervision performed by the DSB will be based on document control in the form of a document of compliance (DOC) on the construction and design of maritime electrical installations, as well as documentation which makes it possible to assess whether the requirements of the Regulations on maritime electrical installations are met.

Please find more information in the attached letter from the DSB.
