The brochure includes a checklist that the customer and hire company should go through together, along with useful tips about rules and regulations regarding boating licence, use of lifejacket and catching fish.
The brochure has now been printed in 13,000 copies, and is being sent to everyone registered as a boat hire company with the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries. It is also possible to order copies via the Norwegian Maritime Authority’s website. You can both read and download the brochure on www.sdir.no/en/recreational-craft/safe-boating/fishing-tourism/. You can also download the checklist if you want to print your own copies.
The new brochure is currently only available in English, but is intended to be translated into German, Polish and Russian.
The brochure has been prepared by the Norwegian Maritime Authority in cooperation with the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries, the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection, the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue, the Norwegian Hospitality Association and Innovation Norway.
