The Norwegian Maritime Authority will consider solutions case-by-case in order to protect all parties and ensure that ships can sail.
In many cases, provisional registration will be acceptable. The Registrar must, however, feel confident that the rectifications will be made within a given time limit from entry into the journal.
If certificates from foreign Ship Registers cannot be amended with an Apostille or legalized, we will consider if the Ship Register in question and person signing is known to so that an exemption may be granted.
New ship mortgages must always be provided in original before registration can take place.
