Israel and Gaza Strip security levels elevated

In response to the deteriorating security situation and the risk of collateral damage in the waters surrounding Israel and the Gaza Strip, the Norwegian Maritime Authority (NMA) has raised the maritime security level (MARSEC/ISPS level) for Norwegian-flagged ships intending to enter these regions.

ELEVATED SECURITY LEVEL:

For Israeli territorial waters in the Mediterranean, the MARSEC/ISPS level is raised to level 3.
The entire Gulf of Aqaba is now designated to MARSEC/ISPS level 2, following intelligence reports of multiple drone and missile strikes in the area. The Norwegian Maritime Authority advises maintaining a heightened state of vigilance, adjusting the security level to reflect the risk of collateral damage.

Chief Security Officers (CSO) and Ship Security Officers (SSO) are strongly encouraged to closely monitor developments using reliable sources.

Moreover, vessels anchored outside the specified areas must assess the potential for collateral damage and implement necessary precautions.
